For The Mountain Goats' tour stop in Pittsburgh on 12/10/2023, I made Disarmingly Bright, a compilation tape of songs that didn't make it onto We Shall All Be Healed. These tapes were handed out for free to attendees of the show.
There were 29 of this tape, plus one that I made for the band members themselves, which was called All Hail The Mysterious Gap Band. I'll let your brain fill in what the concept of that tape was.
Currently, I am working on a hometaping project, the running title of which is You Are In Wilkinsburg Now? The title of the album is taken from an envelope I received from Frank Boscoe of The Ekphrastics (and others), pictured below (this is also the planned cover for the album, which will be released digitally as well as on a limited run of white C40s). Releases May 22, 2024.
